Re: 6 DEC 13 j Wong Yee, Owner of Trading Junk T1662H reports that at
9 p.m. on the 28th. September, while under sail from Oi Hoi (
) to Shan Wan, Heung Shan District and when near Chuk Chau Tau he observed a small junk following him, which in a short time came alongside, when the men on board, pointing revolvers and rifles at us boarded the junk.
They first of all shut us up in the hold in the bow for about half an hour then shifted us to the stern for another half
hour.
They stole $150 in silver money and all the clothing worth about $150 also the arms and ammunition with the exception of 5 cannons and 2 Chinese Luskets. The pirates filled up the vents of the cannons with nails then left the junk and sailed off in the direction of Chuk Chau Tau.
He states that his junk carries valuable goods between Hongkong, Canton, Kong Mun and San Wui and begs you to allow him to purchase the following arms and aunition for which a guarantee
will be given.
Rifles 3, and 300 rounds ammunition.
Luskets 4, Gunpowder 40 lbs. Percussion caps, 2 boxes,
and bullets 13 lbs.
The piracy has been reported at the Ho To customs station
